THE SACRIFICE

what is the true essence of Eastern to you?
Many see Easter as a period to travel back to their villages so as to spend the period with their relatives, others see it as a period to hang out with friends and family, others use this period to party and merry around, while others still use this period to shop all around the world, though the period is meant for the celebration of the indispensable sacrifice Christ paid on the cross of calvary to liberate humanity, this period is basically a period of sober reflection on the undying love Jesus Christ had for humanity that he gave up his life for the world. This is a period when we have to imbibe the undying love of Christ in our lives as we replicate this love for our neighbours and those around us.
Most of us have not yet discover the huge sacrifice Christ made for humanity until we are in a position to sacrifice what we dearly love or Cherish. Jesus Christ was the only son of God but God sacrificed his son because of his love for mankind.
The question is how many of us are willing and able to sacrifice our time, money, efforts, resources, skills, manpower, e.t.c. For the  greater good of your country?
Instead of complaining and grumbling, make a huge sacrifice for your country and your efforts will never be forgotten. Jesus Christ is still the most celebrated personality in the world even after over 2,000 years of his death.
I urge us all today to live a life of sacrifice for the common good of the society or those around you.

LIFE WITHOUT LIMBS

YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR FAILURE
His name is Nicholas James Vujicic popularly called Pastor Nick. He was born on 4th December, 1982 to Serbian Australian parents. He was born with no arms and feet a medical disorder known as "phocomelia"  which is a rare disorder. He testified that he almost gave up on life at age 10 because it was difficult for him to survive, because he was bullied on many occasions. But guess what he went to secondary school and graduated and he is also an Alma mater of Griffith University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Financial planning. It will interest us more to know that he is happily married to kanae Miyahara and they are blessed with two kids Kiyoshi James and Dejan Levi. He has inspired many souls globally today with the message of hope that you should never give up on life. He has written many books and acted movies where he has received numerous awards. Despite his condition, he loves swimming, fishing, typing and writing. I am so inspired by this and on this note we will draw out five lessons from this incredible young man;

  • Maintain a positive attitude: in whatever situation you find yourself, always maintain a positive mentality, always believe in better days ahead, have hope that it is not over until it is, believe in your potentials.
  • Do not wallow in self- pity: Once you have self pity in your present circumstances, you will remain in that situation. Don't pity yourself accept what has come and try to get over it and move on. Pastor Nick seeing that there was nothing he could do to his condition had no choice than to move on.
  • Despite all odds, Survive: life is all about survival of the fittest, if you are not fit enough, survival will be difficult for you. Pastor Nick did not allow his condition to limit his success, he learnt to adapt to the situation at hand.
  • Learn to accept the gift of life: everything in life has a purpose, therfore learn to accept the gift of life, we all have hidden gifts and Potentials, discover those gifts, accept it and learn to move on. It is often said that this life we are living is a gift, use it wisely.
  • Invite of your obstacles and circumstances, it is possible to overcome them and that obstacles can be turned into opportunities, have the spirit of persistence, determination and resilience, never settle for less, you are worth more than you think.
Having read his profile, I can conclude that we have no excuse not to survive, you have two eyes, two legs, two arms, your body system is intact, even Pastor Nick who had an excuse to give never settled for less. You are architect of your own life.

PURPOSE Part A

What is your purpose in life?
Is your purpose just to go to school, get a good grade and graduate, then you get employed in a big company or Organization , live a comfortable life and die having really not done anything meaningful. I call this the "Regular lifestyle" but guess what, you are worth more than this, you have hidden talents, gifts and Potentials that you need to unleash to the world, I have continously heard the saying that everybody was created to be a solution to a problem in the world. Put this in mind that you are solution to a problem, you are thereby special, don't allow someone else to take your place. If long after you have gone, what will you like to be remembered for?
Will your name be mentioned in the history books for making a difference or doing something unique?
" If the purpose of waking up is not known, then you need to go back to sleep"
To discover your purpose in life, you have to start by doing what you love and enjoy doing, don't let anybody control you, take charge of your life because you are the best author for your life, you are the only one that can determine how you want your life to be, never underestimate your capabilities, for it can be your launch pad to greatness.
Aristotle once said that;
"The ultimate aim of human life is to achieve your own happiness"
In life do what you love doing best that will touch and affect lives.
In life it doesn't matter where you are coming from, all that matters is where you are going. Your beginning might be small, you might have been born with one star but guess what strife to change your stars, become five stars, strife being regular to become a Very important person, strife to live a meaningful life, though you were not born with a silver spoon but you can make your children to be born with silver spoon. Your today cannot determine your tomorrow, your present circumstances cannot determine how your future will look like. Create a positive mental picture of how you want your future to be and work towards it, make it an obligation to live a purposeful life. Make a resolve that you must make it, have a burning desire to succeed.
In all these just know that you are the Architect of your own life. A

The Leader with no title

Leadership entails service, a leader is someone who is in the capacity to serve others, leadership entails influence. You can't claim to be a leader and yet all those around you will not feel your impact. Leadership entails sacrifice, sacrifice is the true test of a Leader, how much of your time, effort and resources are you willing to sacrifice so as to render a service to those around you or to humanity? Mother Theresa is a great leader I love so much, she lived a selfless life of service to the poor and less privileged, she will be long remembered by the lives she has touched one way or the other. Same goes to Martin Luther King, he lost His life to fight against racial discrimination what a Leader, same goes to Nelson Mandela who was imprisoned for 27years for a good course, if he had not sacrificed those 27 years in prison, probably South Africa will still be under the whims of apartheid. Leaders are extraordinary people with the mindset of servant hood and humanitarianism.
This brings us to the last phase, leadership entails legacy, if you don't establish a lasting legacy anywhere you are then you are not yet ready for leadership. Anywhere you are, try to do something exceptional, serve others around you and you will be long remembered after you have gone. After all it is easy to create a first impression but difficult to create a lasting impression in people. Abraham Lincoln once said ; " whatever you are, be a good one" so if you are favoured to be a leader, be a good one for good leaders are not defined by their titles but by what they have done that have effected change as well as created solution.

IMUNN 2016

Model UN: Bridging the Education Gap and Building Global Citizens.

Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, or other multilateral body, which introduces students to the world of diplomacy, negotiation, and decision making.

At Model UN, students step into the shoes of ambassadors of countries that are members of the UN, from Argentina to Zimbabwe. The students, better known as “delegates”, debate current issues on the organization’s vast agenda. They prepare draft resolutions, plot strategy, negotiate with supporters and adversaries, resolve conflicts, and navigate the UN’s rules of procedure – all in the interest of resolving problems that affect the world.

Before playing out their ambassadorial roles in Model UN, students research the particular global problem to be addressed. The problems are drawn from today’s headlines. Model UN delegates learn how the international community acts on its concerns about peace and security, human rights, the environment, food and hunger, economic development, and globalization.

Model UN delegates also look closely at the needs, aspirations, and foreign policy of the country they will “represent” at the event. The insights they gain from their exploration of history, geography, mathematics, culture, economics, and science contribute to the authenticity of the simulations once the actual role-playing gets underway, and ensures a lively and memorable experience.

Model UN not only involves young people in the study and discussion of global issues, but also encourages the development of skills useful throughout their lives – skills including research techniques, writing, public speaking, problem-solving, conflict resolution, compromise, and cooperation.

The popularity of participating in Model UN has contributed to the rapid growth of this activity over the past several decades. Many Model UN participants are repeaters, since the spirit of these simulations creates an appétit for this activity more commonly known as “M-U-N Fever”.

In fact, quite a few of today’s leaders in law, government, business, and the arts participated in Model UN during their academic careers – from U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, to Chelsea Clinton and actor Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) and the present Secretary General of the UN.

As many states move to implement standards for global citizenship, Model UN is proving to be an innovative resource to prepare students for career and college success.

make the difference

It was indeed a day that history was made in Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State. When a group of incredible corpers organised a one day summit as well as Empowerment program for 300 students mostly secondary school students within Iwo. The summit termed "operation 300" sought to bring out the best in t he students by giving them training on basic skills so they can be self reliant and also have a bright future ahead of them. Highlights of the event was the skill acquisition session where the students were taught very skills such as soap making, make up, bead making, basic entrepreneurship skills, computer, e.t.c. It was indeed a day to be remembered in the history of the town Iwo. The operation 300 team which was led by Champion faith Adeniran have made history and they have contributed their quotas to the development of the country and they have also touched lives.
Kudos to the operation 300
Kudos to Bowen University
Kudos to the students
God bless Nigeria.

Fear

many have allowed fear to kill their dreams, fear simply means being scared of the unknown most of the things we humans fear is fear itself, fear does only one thing to you, it kills, frustrate, and distract you from achieving your goals. I have a literary meaning for fear which is;
F- forget
E- Everything
A- And
R- Run.
Beyond your fears lays a huge opportunity as well as the treasure we seek. champions are those who face their fears and as a result achieve the other side of fear because fear has two meaning  which is;
F- Face
E- Everything
A- And
R- Rise.
To face your fears requires courage which is not the absence of fear but the presence of fear with the strength and determination to overcome the fear. Face your fears and you shall scale incredible heights.

Ambassador of peace.
