THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIAN YOUTHS.

It is an established fact that almost every Nigerian tend to blame the Government for virtually all the challenges confronting Nigeria, ranging from corruption, unemployment, power problem, tribalism/ethnicity, nepotism, e.t.c the list goes on but the most important which I consider the most pressing challenge in Nigeria is we the Youths ourselves. This present generation of youths have assumed a new form of laziness in which we want everything to be done for us on the platter of gold, we have despised hard work, diligence and commitment for cheap success. We have forgotten that "nothing good comes easy". Though Nigeria 's Government cannot evade the blame for our present challenge but the Youths of this generation Just like Wole Soyinka described them are dead on arrival, Nigerian Youths have lost that vigour, vibrancy and determination of the past. The Youths in the past like Nmamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo, Herbert Macauly, Tafawa Balewa, S.L Akintola and many more were known to be Activist and Nationalist, they did not wait for the Government to solve the problems affecting the Country, they stood up to the challenge and we are now reaping the fruits of their labour.
There is even a common rhetoric among many Youths that we are the leaders of tomorrow or leaders of today, but critically the leaders we perceive ourselves to be  is just a mere saying as it's only few Youths who are working towards achieving this.
This days Youths have focused their attention on music, parties, clubbing, e.t.c and other things that will not add substantial value to their lives, we have ignored the challenges facing Nigeria, we have lionised and idolised musicians, footballers, celebrities and all those who promote evil morals among the Youths, we no longer care about our country any more, many Youths have lost interest in politics or any matter that relates to Nigeria, many Youths dream of leaving school and going out of the country to find white collar jobs, no youth is concerned about using their skills and Expertise to develop the country, we all pose an "I don't care attitude" when it comes to the issue of Nigeria. This is so disheartening.
Another major issue of concern is the issue of the mass influx of youths out of Nigeria to their self portrayed Greener pasture in Europe and America, Nigerian Youths choose to leave the country and school abroad but anyway it's not their fault but the poor educational conditions in the country. Many Nigerian Youths have huge potentials and a bright future ahead, Nigerian Youths are so intelligent, creative and full of ideas but they need to use this for the development of their father's land.
Nigeria is on a verge of success, stay strong Youths and vie for the top.
God Bless Nigeria
Good people, great Nation.

FAILURE

When we talk about failure, many people see it as a negative or bad omen, many see it as the opposite of success. But there is more to failure than we ever imagined.
In my studies, I have come to define failure to literally mean try again later or another time. Failure is not the opposite of success but a process in the pursuit of success.
Winston Churchill defines success as going from one failure to another without loss of enthusiasm.
Just as Thomas. J. Vilord said;
"Keep on trying........each failure is one step closer to success"
I have heard many people saying that experience is the best teacher but I say failure is the best and most effective teacher. Failure does not mean it is over, it only means that you do better next time.
The most intriguing fact about failure is that we are permitted to fail but not fall, anytime we fail we learn from it and move on. The one thing I have learnt about failures is the fact that they usually emerge as great men/women after they have learnt from their failure. Thomas Edison one of the greatest inventors of our time who had about 1000 inventions said that he was one of the greatest failures in humanity, most of his inventions were done after many attempted failures, he even said he have not failed but have only found 10,000 ways that won't work when he was trying to invent the light bulb.
Mickey Rooney once said;
"You always pass failure on the way to success"
Just a minute of success pays for many years of failure.
Failure is a part of life that you have to live with and learn from. The most successful men in life have been the worst failures.
Even Michael Jordan the greatest Basketball player ever was once cut from his high school team, as he had missed 9,000 shots in his career, lost 300 games, He said: i have failed over and over and over again in my career and that is why I succeed".
Even Albert Einstein who was regarded as a genius at a time in his childhood had speech difficulties, he was even suspected to be mentally handicapped. He even tried to test into the Zurich Polytechnic but failed but he was finally accepted. He was awarded a Nobel prize for physics and began to be regarded as a genius of our modern era.
All these great people had one point in lives failed as many times as possible, but they learnt from their failures and exploited it as an opportunity to achieve success.
Failure is an obstacle that can demoralise a weak mind but it takes determination and commitment to overcome failures and obstacles.
Most success in life springs from an obstacle or failure.

LESSONS FOR LIFE.

Life is a journey, the day you were given birth to is the day you start your  journey.
Everything in life is not gotten on the platter of gold.
Not all that glitters is gold.
Experience is the best teacher.
Knowledge is power
Failure is not the opposite of success, but a component of success.
No man is an island, you need people around you.
Use what you have to get what you want.
Chase your dreams and not people.
Listen to the words of Elders and Experienced people.
The company you keep determines the lifestyle you lead.
Work hard as much as play hard. Balance working and playing
Try to make impact anywhere you are.
You are a star only when you choose to shine.
A lion is not feared and heard  until it learns to roar. Make yourself heard.
Be as gentle as a dove and at the same time as ferocious ruthless  as a lion.
You are a product of your habits.
If the purpose of waking up each day is not known, then go back to sleep.
Life is not a competition, there are those that will be above you, as well as those that will be below you, beside you, so therefore live life to satisfy your inner desires.
Nothing good comes easy.
You are a product of your dreams.
Winners are ordinary people with extraordinary determination.
In the race of life, there are those that will stumble, some will fall, some will rise, but the most important thing is to reach the finish line.
Life is all about survival of the fittest.
If you are too big to serve, you are too small lead.
Your altitude in life is largely determined by your  attitude towards life. Experience they say is the best teacher but I say failures and mistakes are the best teachers.
Stay loyal, be humble, be resilient, be persistent
Life is worth living
You are a champion!!!!!!!!!! Good morning once again.

The Efficacy of knowledge

Just as many people will say, knowledge is power. What you know will determine what becomes of you.
Knowledge is not education. Many people confuse this. You can be out of school and still learn a lot. That is why it is believed that the day you stop learning is the day you die. Though education is important but the knowledge education offers you is limited to some specific subject matter while it's now up to you to acquire knowledge, education is part of the learning process but not the most important. Learning occurs in almost every facet of life, from the movies we watch, to our peers or equal. A child learns a great deal from his/her Peers  and some even grow with what they learnt at childhood. We also learn from the music we listen to, the TV shows we watch, the football match we watch, I can say that it was through football I knew and heard about some countries like Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and many more as well as their capitals . We can also learn from our daily interactions with various people which is were the issue of networking comes in place. So knowledge Is at our disposal in the 21st century but it all depends on how we utilise it.
An old Chinese adage which talked about knowledge says that;
" he who knows and knows that he knows is a wise man follow him,
He who knows not and knows that he knows not is a child, teach him.
He who knows not and does not  knows that he knows not is a fool, ignore him"
I have learnt one great lesson in life which is that I still have a lot to learn. Even the greatest Emeritus and Professor still learn daily to keep up with the changing pace of globalization  in the world. The day you stop learning, is the day you are left behind in history , you become extinct.
Make it a habit to read something everyday whether it's an article, a book, a newspaper or magazine, anything worth reading for it is through the acquisition of knowledge that you gain ideas that can change the world. Even our religious books recognise the importance of learning, "study to show thyself approved".
This generation according to Wole Soyinka is dead on arrival because we spend most of our time on things that don't add value to our knowledge acquisition quest. Our brain  is well equipped that it can take and acquire any information and store it up. Even Someone once  said that most human beings have not explored up to about 10% of their brains. Just imagine if all humans can  explore about 10% of their brains, perhaps the world would have been a much better place. Though it's impossible to know everything but it is also possible to know a lot.
Therefore today, I urge us all to make use of our brains, our brain is hungry for knowledge, knowledge is the food of our brain, don't starve your brain to death, feed your brain with knowledge so it can be effective and function properly.
Knowledge gives you  an edge over others because it makes others to listen to you, you earn respect from others.
My Father always tells me that I should not allow everyday pass without me learning or gaining something.
From today onwards, make it an habit to learn something everyday, just one thing is enough because the more you learn, the more knowledgeable you become.

Education part A

"Education they say is the bedrock of development in any society " without education a society will be left behind in the wave of globalization and what I term "modernization". Education is for all check out the Developed countries, they take education serious as they see it as the birthright of every child and it is also an obligation for parents to educate their children. It is an offence for a child to be out of school, the parents can be sanctioned or sued to court.
In Africa using Nigeria as a case study, reverse is the case. Many children are out of school, even the small percentage that are in school largely suffer sub standard education. Except few private and public institutions. It is so painful when you go through many highways across Nigeria, you see children with huge potentials hawking, children who are meant to be in school are usually found hawking on the streets an high way under dangerous conditions, the children are exposed to dangers of kidnapping, armed robbery and rape. In the northern divide of Nigeria, the children there engage in street begging and they are popularly known as "Al majiris", they roam the streets and major high ways begging for alms which is their only means of survival.
This is so painful in a country that claims to be the "Giant of Africa " and that also have the best economy in Africa failing to educate it's citizen. Judging by recent statistics, Nigeria according to the UN is among the nine most illiterate counties in the world and statistics also shows that Northern Nigeria has the highest rate of illiterates in Nigeria.
The government should invest more on education, they should ensure Universal Basic Education for all children. (UBE) every child is entitled to free education, there is no harm in ensuring free primary education for all students in Nigeria and also the high rate of illiteracy in Northern Nigeria should be addressed. The last administration laid a good foundation through the Al majiri school, the present Government should continue.
Nigerian children have huge potentials and they need education to give them a solid foundation.
